It was getting close to that time of year again. The time of year when you'd receive you're letters from Hogwarts with a list of supplies to buy, or even the very first one, the letter of acceptance. It was just over two weeks until school was to begin, Ryder was at home with nothing to do, once again. It'd been a while since the last time he'd talk to Madi, and was wondering where, and what she'd been up to.
Everyone who was anyone knew that Ryder like Madi. It been a while since he'd talk to her, even through emails. Ry sat up in his room debating what he should do. He could wait another two weeks to talk to her, or he could pick up his phone and give her a call. Well that was if his mom wasn't on it. Ryder held the phone in his hands, he began to dial her number, but then quickly hung it up. He did that a few more times until he began to talk to him self. "What are you doing? you're never shy around girls....never....just call her, dial her freaking number and talk to her." he said to him self barely above a whisper.
Ryder dialed her number one last time and this time he actually didn't hang up. The phone began to rang, and he was begging to think about what to say. As the phone rang, a part of him hoped no one would answer, but then another part hoped someone would. Just as that thought crossed his mind the phone stopped ringing and there was a voice on the other side, Ry said nothing and simply hang the phone up placing it down on the desk in front of him.
He had no idea why he was acting the way he was. He never got like that around girls, and he was never like that around Madi. Ryder has known Madison for as long as he could remember. "you're an idiot! what's your problem?!?" he told himself. Ry couldn't believe the way he was acting, he knew he liked Madi but he never thought it was anything this serious. He sat there thinking to himself, as he stared at the phone.

Madison lay on her bed staring up at the ceiling. Once again she found herself home alone with nothing to do. She had no idea where her parents or siblings were, and she was starting to get a bit bored. "Someone save me," Madi groaned under her breath rubbing hands across her eyes. Normally, Madi would go on the computer, but as it was, her Internet connection was out. Which she had to say sucked. She had wanted to talk to Ryder tonight and ask him why he hadn't bothered to call her, or email her, or even send her a damn owl! It wasn't hard and it didn't take that much of his precious time. Plus he had promised to call her like two months ago, and he still hadn't. The jerk.
Just as Madison was about to totally trash Ryder and all that he was the phone beside her bed rang. Opening her eyes, Madison rolled onto her stomach to grab the phone. But Just as she was going to touch it, the ringing stopped. Madi raised a questioning eyebrow. Wrong number maybe? But just as she had convinced herself of this, the phone rang again. Once again just as she was going to take it off the rack, it stopped ringing. This happened a few more times until the ringing stopped for a few moments.
Madison glared at the phone daring it to ring. Daring the person on the other side to have the guts to actually say who they were. Madi waited for a couple minutes, but then finally gave up with a sigh. However it was obviously wasn't going to call back. However just as Madi started to stand up, the phone rang again. Pouncing on it, Madi quickly snatched it up. "Hello." She said slightly irritated. Madi could hear breathing on the other end, but no word. "Hello? who is this?" She asked, then the line went dead.
"ARGH!" Madi said in frustration. With a sigh, Madi clicked the phone off and scrolled through the caller ID. Whoever it was that kept calling was going to get an earful. Scrolling through the list, Madi saw the number and who it was. Shaking her head, Madison hit the talk button on the phone and waited as it rang.
As she heard someone pick up on the other end, Madi sighed. "What the hell was that Jackson?" She asked the tone of her voice revealing her irritation at him. "If you're going to call me Ryder don't hang up! Like seriously? Whats wrong with you?" She asked with a small laugh. "Man sometimes I wonder if their is something wrong with your little mind," Madison said her smile showing through her voice. Madi couldn't stay mad at Ryder for long. Even if he was at times rather annoying.

Ry didn't want to believe that he was actually acting the way he was around one of his best friends. Not in a million years would he have ever thought he would be acting like this, especially about a girl. As Ryder sat there and stared at the phone it began to ring. He held it in his hands for a few moments before he answered it. Even before he had time to even say hello Madi started talking. Ry sat there with a smile on his face, almost as if to say, 'saw that coming...'.
As Madi finished talking for the moment Ry decided to say something before she started again. "Nice to talk to you to, " he stated with a bit of a laugh. "And to answer your question, we both know there's something wrong with my mind." he gave a mischievous smile even though she couldn't see it. But as to her other question, he had no answer. He had no idea what was wrong with him and why he'd done that, normally he wouldn't have. "Ya and sorry for hanging up so many times...." he tailed off, hoping she wouldn't ask why he'd done it, because truthfully he had no answer for her.
"And I'm sorry i didn't call you sooner, ever time i go to use the phone my friggen mom's on it." he told her, though if she could see his face she would know that he was truly annoyed by that. "So how's your summer been?" he asked trying to create a conversation. Waiting for her answer Ryder began to spin around in his computer chair, he did this often when he was on the phone, and found it rather amusing no matter how dizzy it made him.

Madison smiled as Ryder said it was good to talk to her too. "Oh I'm so sorry, where are my manors," she said her voice thick with sarcasm. "Hello Ryder dearest. How are you on this fine and lovely day?" Madi asked mocking him as she rolled her eyes. Giggling as Ryder stated that they both knew there was something wrong with his mind, Madi flopped back on to her bed lying on her back. Cradling the cordless phone between her ear and her shoulder, Madi pushed a piece of hair that ha fallen into her eyes away. "Well obviously there is something wrong with you mind," she said with a small sigh. "I just meant maybe there was something even more wrong then we had first thought," Madison teased Ryder.
Today, Madison was dressed in a pair of short cut of jean shorts that were a bit to short and were tattered around the edges. She had on a white halter top that didn't quite meet her pants and showed the charm on her belly button ring. Madi had only gotten that piercing recently over the summer, but she loved it. It made her total count for piercings go to five. "You best be sorry," Madi said with a small laugh. "Do you know how annoying it is for the phone to just ring once then stop?" Madison asked. "Well next time I go to call you, I'll just do it to you. And that's a promise," she said threateningly.
"Oh using your mom as an excuse now are you?" Madi teased as Brae said he'd tried to call her before but his mom was always on the phone. "Are you sure there wasn't one time when she was out shopping or busy doing something else that you could have grabbed the phone and called me?" Madi asked in a teasing sort of way. Madison gave a small giggle. She knew she was probably being annoying, but she and Brae had been best friends forever, so she didn't really think it would matter. Closing her eyes, Madi gave a small sigh. It was so good to hear his voice again after so long.
"Oh my summer has been... Boring as hell!" Madi said sitting up on her bed and crossing hr legs. "Lets see I've been babysitting, babysitting and oh.. More babysitting! But I spent two weeks in Ireland with my uncle Tristan which was pretty fun," Madi said. "Oh and the other day I spent the day in Diagon Alley with Mark Weasley," Madi said with a smile as she remembered the day. "But what about you?" Maddy asked after a moment coming out of her thoughts. "Done anything exciting this summer besides not calling me?" She asked honestly wanting to know.

Ry couldn't help but to shake his head, she was so cute in more then one way or another. "Oh I'm just great, thanks for asking. And how about yourself, hunh Madison." he smiled, Ry rarely called her Madison unless he was joking around. Hearing her next comment made him roll his eyes. He knew she was only joking around with him, and was it was fun. "Oh thanks, love you too." she stated back.
Ryder gave a small laugh, "i swear i am sorry," he started, "ohhh I'm scared now." he teased, and she kindly stated that she promises that the next time she goes to call him that she'll return the favor. Ryder didn't give a response to the whole excuse thing, even though it was the truth, he figured they could argue over that stupid little thing for the next hour or even more if he said anything more about it.
Listening to her tell him what she did over the summer Ry smiled. He didn't smile at the fact she said it was boring, but rather he smiled at just hearing her voice. It was so nice, and rather comforting after not hearing it for almost two straight months. Ry was thinking everything was ok until she mentioned Mark. He didn't like him very much, and he's also noticed Madi had spent a lot of time with him lately, though he could never understand why. She's a Death Eater, and he's an Order lover, and lets not forget that he's a Weasley! Ry was about to say something but instead he just remained quiet about the whole Weasel thing, trying to act as if he hadn't herd that part.
"Me....well...." he started trying to remember everything he'd done this past summer. "Well I've had to watch the little brats a lot. And Paisley also ran away from me one day when i took her out shopping, and i sear it's not my fault! that girl was hot, what can i say." he continued. " My aunt Cassie finally came back after all these years, and i haven't really done anything else thats that exciting or really anything at all." he told her honestly. Ry wanted to invite Madi over one day but didn't know what she had planned for the rest of the summer.

"Ugh.. You so did not just call me Madison," Madi said with a laugh. She knew Ryder was only joking, so she didn't care. "Me oh you know I'm wonderful. I'm grounded again. I got busted for sneaking out the other night," Madi gave a small laugh. "But they have to know that grounding me won't keep me in. I was born to break rules." Madi smiled as she said this. "Well you know I love you. So that's the only reason why I'd say that," Madi said blushing slightly as she said it because it was true. But Ryder wouldn't know that. He was a boy and oblivious to the fact she liked him... Even if it was more obvious than anything else.
"Oh you're swearing now are you?" Madi asked teasingly with a small laugh. "That's not that attractive hun," she said trying not to burst out laughing. As Ryder said he was scared now, Madi couldn't help it she burst out into a fit of giggles. "You best be scared. You know I'll do it!" Madi smiled at herself. She was such a loser. "And you now I beat you up if you do it again yes?" Madi asked. But it was well known between the two of them that she would beat him up even if he nothing to piss her off. Not that it would hurt him. Madi swore that Ryder was made of iron or something - he just wasn't human. It honestly wasn't possible he was just to perfect. So Madi had decided that he was some sort of superhero.. But that had been many years ago.
As Ryder talked about his summer, Madison smiled. She loved hearing about all his adventures. But, as he said he had lost Paisley because he was to busy talking to some hot girl, Madi's mouth dropped open. "You lost me baby?" Madi asked in astonishment. Madi couldn't help it, she loved Paisley like she was her own little sister and would do anything for the little blond. "All because of some girl? Wow way to be Flash. Way to be." Madi shook her head. She wasn't sure what she was more upset about. Ryder losing Paisley or the fact he had been once again flirting with another girl. Rolling her eyes, Madi sighed. What could she do? He was after all a Jackson and his father's reputation was well known. Obviously Ryder would be like his dad.
Rubbing her eyes, Madi flinched as she heard her mum yelling up the stairs to get off the phone. "Shit their home. Save me," Madi said with a groan. "I don't care if I'm grounded I need to get out of hear." Madi opened her eyes as she waited for Ryder's response. It wasn't like sneaking out of her house was that hard. Generally her mom was so busy with everything else that she wouldn't even notice that Madi was gone. "Please," Madi begged. "I'' do anything for you, if you'll just get me out of this damn house I'm going to go insane."

Sitting up in his room, on the phone with his bestest friend in the world, who also happen to be the same girl he like, Ry couldn't think of doing much more then that right now. Laughing slightly at what Maddi had said he couldn't resist saying something. "That's my girl, " he stated as she said she got grounded for sneaking out again, and that she was born to break rules. Ryder was the same, he liked to think that he and Mads were so much a like, only she was the female version.
Trying not to laugh at her, Because he knew she wouldn't hurt him, remembering from past experiences he simply just smiled. "So what you're trying to tell me is that you have to punish me?" he said, rather curious to know what she meant. One of Ryder's favorite past times. If he wasn't in trouble already he would be planing, or playing his evil plotting out, some say troubles his middle name.
Just as he was about to reply to what she said back to him about losing Paisley earlier that month, he was interrupted with her saying more. Hearing her ask him if he would come say her, he was more then willing to. He would do anything for her, and she probably didn't know that, or had caught on to that yet, that he noticed anyways. Hearing her say she's do anything, got him thinking, but he was quick to return from his thoughts so she wouldn't suspect anything. "Anything you say?" he asked, a bit jokingly, but a bit seriously too. After asking that, it got him thinking. "Mads, I'll be right back. I need to go get something." he said then gently placed the phone down on his desk.
Ryder quickly ran down the stairs put his shoes on and headed out the front door. Maddi didn't live far from where he did, so it wouldn't take him that long to get there. Ry ran the whole way there and once there he stopped and became very quiet. He moved around the yard until he came under Madi's window. Picking up a small little rock he gently tossed it at her window, followed by another, and another. Ry quietly waited for her to noticed.

"Damn right," Madi said as Ryder called her his girl. She laughed slightly, as she grabbed a pillow from the top of her bed. Putting in down, Madi lay her head on it and rested the phone next to her on the pillow so she didn't have to hold onto it. With a small sigh, Madi remember the fact she had wanted to grab a nail file she had grabbed the pillow, but she had forgotten. "Shit," she muttered grabbing the phone again and holding it up to her ear. Now the only question was were had she put the nail file. Looking around her room, Madi couldn't see it anywhere. With a sigh, Madi moved to the edge of her bed and leaned down, the top of her head just inches from the the ground.
Looking under her bed, Madi saw the nail file. Reaching with the hand that was not holding the phone, Madi just manged to grab the nail file. "Uh oh," Madi said trying to get back up onto the bed. "Shit I'm stuck," Madi said still struggling to get back up onto the bed. "Ryder HELP!," Madi squealed half pleading half laughing. "I can't get back up on the bed!" Madi laughed as she continued to be stuck. However just as she was about to give up, Madi slipped down a half flip off the bed landing on her back with a soft thump onto the hard wood floor of her bedroom. "Ow," the small brunette said rubbing the back of her head. "Never mind. I'm not stuck no more," Madi said with a small giggle not moving from the floor.
Madi rolled her eyes at Ryder's next comment. "Yes," she said with a small sigh. "I would have to punish you. But I'm not telling you how I would do it," Madi added grinning evilly even though Ryder wouldn't be able to see it. "Yes! ANYTHING!" Madi said still lying on the floor. "I'll do anything you want Ryder, just get me out of here!" Madi new she probably sounded desperate, but she didn't care. All she wanted was out. As Ryder said he'd be right back Madi gave a small sigh. "Fine," she said her voice small. "If you must. Just hurry back!." Listening to the different sounds on the other end of the phone as Madi waited for Ryder to come back for her, the small brunette picked up her nail file and started to fix her nails.
As she finished her nails, Madi noticed that Ryder still hadn't come back to the phone. "Ryder? You there?" Madi asked softly. Where could he be? He said he'd be right back. "Ok Ryder if you don't talk in two minutes, I'm hanging up the phone." Twirling a piece of hair around her index finger, it wasn't until a minute later, that Madi heard something hit her bedroom window. Frowning slightly, the small girl got up and slowly walked over to the window, Looking out, she couldn't help but shake her head smiling slightly at what she saw. "When you said you needed to go get something I didn't know you meant me," Madi said through the open window as she clicked the phone off.
Rolling her eyes, Madi couldn't help but smile. It was the simple things like this that made Madi loved Ryder that much more. "Hold on I'm gonna go get my shoes," Madi said and quickly walked over to closet. Slipping her feet into a pair of small black flip flops, Madi turned off her music, and locked her bedroom door, so no one would know she was missing. Walking back over to her bed, Madi grabbed her purse. Walking back over to the window, Madi smiled as she walked out on the small porch outside her bedroom window. "Here catch," Madi said let her purse fall out of her hands to Ryder down below.
Leaving the door open onto the porch, Madi hopped over the railing onto the thin ledge. Lucky for her, Madi had done this a few times now and it was now one of her many wonderful skills. Holding onto the railing, Madi moved closer to the house where there was a vine plant that she could use to climb down. Mind you it didn't go all the way down to the ground, but it went far enough down that the small girl could jump the rest of the way without getting hurt. starting to climb down, Madi reached the end of the vine within seconds. Letting go with her hands, Madi dropped the remaining distance landing with a soft thump on the grass.
Turning to face Ryder, Madi smiled as she pushed a piece of hair out of her eyes. "You really are the best," Madi said rushing over to Ryder and giving him the biggest hug imaginable. "I've missed you! Don't ever leave me by myself again!" Madi said hugging him a bit tighter before at last letting go. Taking her purse back from Ryder, Madi swung it over her shoulder. "OK now we really need to go before my mum finds out I'm gone... Again." Madi grinned deviously as she said this.
