Quiet. It was really quiet. A bit too quiet for her liking, but at least it wasn't as loud as it normally was. The ground was peaceful, the birds were calm, the day seemed to go by rather slow, but then again it was nice to have at least one calm day after what happened the past week. Hermione sat within her house, trying to relax as much as she could. The house was a mess, but nothing a little magic couldn't fix, but she found herself so tired she didn't even care for magic at the moment.
She sat within her kitchen, upon the freshly waxed wooden floor, and in silence. The room was situated into an oval shape by the interesting positions of the counter tops. A counter sat in the middle of the room, almost like a bar, that curved into a deep half circle. She sat at the tall top on the opposite side, and leaning into the rounded edge, staring briefly into the center of the half circle, almost as if someone had been sitting there.
She turned her head and began to gaze out the small iron crafted glass windows that remained open to let the breeze in. A pitch black owl burst from the clouds and into her vision as she situated herself comfortably. She watched intently as it's flight pattern was in a twisted whirlwind-type motion, and she sighed. Mail time, already.
It was different this time, though. The owl seemed to fly ten times faster than it usually did for mail, perhaps there was an emergency? She shook her head, no... it was supposed to be a quiet day. The owl swooped in, landing right next to her, and stopped in a deadly stillness. She began to wonder, untying the piece of parchment from the thin leg it was wrapped around. A certain deep silence was in the air as her ears began to ring with nervous thoughts that swarmed through her head. She read it.
She suddenly felt dizzy, and felt a little queasy at the same time as she realized what just happened. She smiled a bit from the amazing opportunity that lay in front of her, and then realized the problem with it. She shook her head, this is unbelievable. She smiled finally, and then suddenly she heard a knock at the door. Oh, no, she thought. The house is a mess!
"Come in!" She said loudly, relaxing and forgetting about the house all of a sudden. "I'm in the kitchen." She said instantly, and waiting patiently for them to enter the room.
