It all ended with one curse. One unforgivable curse. No one had expected the war to end that way, but it did. People's emotions were split. Happy he was gone and, unsure because of how their hero had defeated the enemy. The one curse he had chosen to use would turn the magical world upside down for months to come. And, it would be the one thing that would drive him mad for the rest of his life. He was no killer. How could he let himself sink to their level. To let himself get so upset that it all didn't matter. These, are the questions Harry Potter so desperately wants answered, but yet at the same time he wants to leave that day in the past. To never revisit it. Never relive the horrors of his friends dying in battle around him. And so, for the past 15 years, the reputable Harry Potter has lived in silence. not wanting to voice the fears that haunt him... No matter how often he is asked about it. For he is still, The Boy who Lived. And therefore, Voldemort was Dead.

"C'mon Ron," Harry muttered breathlessly, as they continued to climb the hill side. "No time to start chickening out now. I mean C'mon mate, we left school to do this. Me and you. To defeat Voldemort once and for all." Turning Harry stopped in his tracks turning to look back at his best mate. Squinting his eyes against the setting sun, Harry raised a hand to shield his eyes from the bright rays of the early summer night.
"I know," Muttered Ron as he neared his friend on the hill side. "I just can't stop thinkin' about 'moione. I can't stop thinkin' that we'll never get to see 'er again." Ron looked down his sad eyes hidden behind a tuft of red hair that had fallen into his eyes. Using his sleeve, Ron wipe his nose lost in his thought. He loved Hermione, he honestly did and he was sure she loved him too. But now? What were the chances he would get to see her again? To see her smile? These things and more running through his mind, Ron wasn't sure what has going on until he was startled out of his thoughts by Harry putting his hand on his shoulder.
"You'll see 'er again Ron. We'll see everyone again after this. You'll see. I promise," Harry said slowly, but a surely as he could. It was what he wanted to believe, and he wanted Ron to believe it to - even if the chances of it actually happening were small. But still, that was the one thing Harry was holding onto. the one thing that was keeping him going - the thought of seeing everyone again after this was all over. No more fear, no more deaths. It would all be over.
As Ron nodded his head, Harry took his hand away from his his best mates shoulder with a final pat. "C'mon, we're almost there," Harry said with a small nod of his head toward the top of the hill that was less than fifty yards away from where they stood. Months of research had been done by the Order that Harry had not been aware of to find the location of Voldemort. But finally his frustration got the better him once again, and Harry had snuck around the people who cared most about his safety, and found out where Voldemorts hiding place was. And had left not a minute later to go and put an end to the misery that his life long enemy was causing everyone.
Harry knew that the rest of the Order would have noticed his sudden disappearance, and chances were, they weren't far behind him. They would bring an army of people. Older Order Members, and the people who had joined once the school year had ended and they were free to do whatever they wanted. But Harry didn't care. He wanted to do this. Wanted to make sure that the thing that was after world domination would never again see daylight after he was done with him. Harry had planned everything out. He knew what he was going to do, and he needed Ron's help. Together, Harry thought that he and Ron could both go up against Voldemort, use one spell, and have it doubly as effective and kill Voldemort once and for all.
Harry and Ron walked in silence as the drew nearer to the top of the hill. Ron's breathing had gotten heavier and he looked terrified. Blinking, Harry didn't want t think about what he was setting out to get him and his best mate into. Opening his eyes, Harry noticed smoke coming from beyond the top of the hill. Harry froze his scar worse than ever before. Sinking to one knee, Harry clutched his forehead. Obviously Ron had noticed as he had stop and was now looking back at Harry, his eyes showing the fear that he would not voice. "You ok 'Arry?" Ron asked walking slowly toward his friend.
"Ya I'm fine..." Harry said slowly. "Just my scar." Harry looked up to see that Ron was no longer looking at him but rather down the hill, his eyes wide. Standing, Harry turned to see what it was that Ron was looking at. Rolling his eyes, Harry had hoped the wouldn't have shown up until later. With a sigh, Harry waited for Charlie Weasley who was leading the way to reach them.. He looked pissed, Harry decided. Bracing himself, Harry waited to be yelled at, but he honestly didn't care. He just wanted to finish what he had set out to do.
"They've got Hermione and Ginny," Charlie said reaching Harry and Ron. Harry looked over at Ron to see his friend starring blankly up at his older brother. Eyes flashing, Harry made up his mind fairly quickly. Turning on his heel, Harry turned and ran the rest of the way up the hill his scar throbbing. "Harry wait. Oh shit." Harry could hear the voices behind him but he didn't care. How the hell had Voldemort captured Hermione and Ginny? How could he have let Voldemort capture them?
Stopping at the top of the hill, Harry looked out at everything in front of him. Voldemort was talking to all of his loyal Death Eaters, who were all cloaked in a black cape with a hood and wore white masks. "Today, is the day that the Magical world will be flushed of all mudbloods and Muggles. Today is the day that will will finally defeat those filthy Mudblood lovers and Bloodtraitors." Voldemorts Voice rag out from the center of the crowd. Harry looked around trying to find where Hermione and Ginny were. Harry strained his eyes looking. He feared the worse. Voldemort hadn't killed them yet had he?
"Today is the day that we will finally defeat Harry Potter," Voldemorts voice boomed again. Harry blinked his attention turning back to the figure in the middle of the crowd who was so staring straight at Harry. Harry blinked again, wincing in pain from the burning of his scar. "Welcome Harry," Voldemort said with a twisted smile. Harry looked back over his shoulder and noticed that the Order was now only a few feet behind him.
"Harry," Ron said reaching Harry's side again. "Harry what the.. Oh shit," Ron's voice faded to a whisper as he looked out to see what Harry was looking at. Harry couldn't find his voice. He stood their motionless. They had walked straight into a trap. This wasn't Voldemorts hiding palace, this was where the future of the Magical world would be determined. He like the rest of the Order had been played. Been led to believe that Voldemort wouldn't be waiting for them. But here he was. Harry blinked.
"Find Hermione and Ginny," Harry said quietly under his breath to Ron who was as white as a ghost. "Find them and get out of here. I don't want anything to happen to any of you." Harry swallowed hard against the lump in his throat. this was it. Turning toward Voldemort and the Death Eaters again, Harry was only slightly aware of Ron backing away from his side off to go find Hermione and Ginny. Harry closed his eyes. He had lead everyone into a trap.
"GET THEM!" Voldemort's voice echoed above the roar of the crowed. Eyes flying open, Harry watched as what look like thousands of Death Eaters came charging their way. Drawing his wand, Harry watched as the rest of the Order did the same thing. Charlie Weasley stood next to him on one side, and Arthur Weasley on the other. Behind him was Tonk and Remus. What would happen to them? Harry wondered. But their wasn't time to think. As the Death Eaters closed in on them, Harry and the rest of the order set out running across the fields to meet the enemy.
Harry struggled for what seemed like forever. He couldn't see anyone anymore. All he wanted to do was reach Voldemort. To end the war that he had unknowingly lead the people he cared most about into. It seemed like an eternity before Harry finally say Voldemort standing with a pleased smirk on his face. Harry glared at him, and made the final dash, but just as he reached Voldemort, someone stepped out in front of him. "Where do you think you're going?" The thick voice asked. Distracted from what was going on around him for a minute, Voldemort looked down annoyed at the disturbance and noticed Harry for the first time. "Let him go," Voldemort said. "He's mine."
"Well Harry," Voldemort said as Harry was lifted up by grimy hands onto the stand that Voldemort was standing on. "Look around you. Look what you've caused. First you're parents death, and now all these innocent people?" Voldemort paused for dramatic effect. "Pitty this time you won't be around to see the end and what comes of the mess you've cause," Voldemort smirked evilly as he drew his wand. "Any last words Potter before I kill you once and for all?" Harry glared at Voldemort, his eyes flashing. Was Voldemort really trying to blame this all on him. "This isn't my fault," Harry yelled furiously raising his wand too.
"Avada Kadavra" Harry's words rang out amiss the ground full of anger and hate. Harry watched, his eyes unwavering as Voldemort was subjected to the effects of the curse he had been using for so long. Harry's eyes didn't not stray from Voldemort until his foe had fallen to the ground and was staring blankly up at Harry. Looking up, Harry lowered his wand. As he watched thing unfold, he wasn't at all upset about what he had done. He thought perhaps once he got a handle on everything again, that perhaps then he would feel bad for sinking to the level of a Death Eater and using the unforgivable curse. But not today.
Things wrapped up fairly quickly after that. With their master dead. Death Eater started to flee, trying to get away. They knew they didn't stand a chance with out Voldemort, and they were right. Most of the Death Eaters died that day, only a handful making it out alive. They would be forced to live lies for the rest of their life. Forced into hiding until the day that they would die. Harry's eyes scanned the grounds, over the faces of the people he loved. How many of them had died today? Chances are they would never know the actual number. But all Harry knew, was it was over. There would be on more living in fear for anyone. Voldemort was dead.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fifteen years has passed since that day on the top of the hill. Harry Potter knew what he did that day. He knew what curse he had used, and he would live with the guilt of using it for the rest of his life. But, the magical world was free. He and the rest who survived could live their lives without fear. Harry and Ginny got soon after the war as Harry had promised. Ron and Hermione had got married, and many other couple got married, no longer afraid of their children having to grow up in a world of hatred.
However, unknown to anyone, there was a new dark force growing. Death Eaters that had been forced into hiding were getting upset about the way the Order was running the magical world. One family, the Jackson's who had supported Voldemort during the war and survived, were really tired with the way things were being handled and decided to do something about it. But what?
Kirsten and Braeden Jackson were long time supporters of the Dark lord, and with none of the other remaining Death Eaters doing something about the way things were being run, they figured it was their duty to take over. But could they do? They were only young, how could they get a new army to support them and their goals? But they had to try. They had to spread the word - quietly - that they were gathering followers.
The Dark Emperor and Empress have quietly been gaining followers for the past eight years. They plan on starting a new rising with A New Era of Death Eaters. Only this time they won't make the same mistakes as Voldemort did. As time ticks by, they're powers grow and so does the supporting force around them. Kirsten and Braeden both know it won't be long before word slips out of what they are doing. But before it does, Kristen and Brae want to get as many followers as they can. Their goal is - much like Voldemorts - to take over the Magical world, and eventually the muggle world as well.
At the same time as this is happening, School life has returned to normal in the three schools across the Western portion of Europe. Hogwarts is back to normal under the control of a new head. Beauxbaton's is still a girls only school in France on the cost of the Mediterranean. Durmstrang, is still the only school that will only accept pureblood wizards, and remains a boy's only academy in the north of Germany. With life back to normal, students are busy at all three academies, and are unaware of the growing dark force that is threating to take them over.
With the magical world finally at peace, no one wants to even think about the possibility of what could be happening behind closed doors. People are happy, and that's the way the Ministry wans to keep it. The Order is still in place, but they don't meet as frequently, and is more there as a reminder of what was, and what is never to happen again. Or so they want. But who knows how much longer the magical world will stay this way before it is turned up side down by the new powers that are quickly rising to the top.
